What Else the Wealth Tax Would Fund

Beyond direct payments, the bill’s sponsors say the remaining revenue would be directed toward programs that disproportionately benefit retirees and working families, including:

  • Expanded Medicare coverage—potentially including dental, vision, and hearing benefits that many seniors currently pay out of pocket
  • Investment in affordable senior housing and home health care services
  • Support for older adults and people with disabilities receiving in-home care
  • Childcare support and increased teacher pay

For anyone currently navigating Medicare Advantage plans, supplemental insurance, or long-term care insurance costs, expanded federal Medicare coverage could represent significant savings over the course of a retirement.
