7 Downsides of Living in A Beach Town for $1,200 per Month

Expect some disappointments when shopping.

You definitely won’t find the same products you were used to. You might be lucky enough to recognize one or two, but there will still be many things you might miss.

Naturally, all the essentials are still available, but definitely not your favorite niche brands or the good old quality you once knew. For instance, candies are probably at the top of the list of things that expats bring from home, as one survey showed.

Then, everything that you can take with you from Trader Joe’s, such as good parmesan and Cheddar cheese, and inexpensive laptops, TVs, and any other appliances and electronics, Weirdly enough, cotton clothing is very hard to find there.

However, don’t worry: you will survive, but once in a while you might attempt to convince visitors to pack an extra bag of Twizzlers for you.
