3. Alabama

As the song says, “Sweet Home Alabama,” this is one of the states that really cares for its retirees. Alabama is a member of the Southern states that collectively provide a reasonably priced area for people on low incomes, such as the elderly living solely off of Social Security. When residing in Alabama, you may anticipate paying roughly 12.5% less than other Americans because this state’s rentals are among the lowest in the nation.

Do you know any relatives or friends who are living in Alabama? Tell us in the comments.

4. Mississippi

If you’re wondering if there is another state that’s even less expensive than Alabama, we’re here to tell you that Mississippi is also a great place for all retirees who want to relocate for retirement. Why? Mississippi has the lowest overall cost of living of any state on the list, at a remarkable 17% less than the national average.

If you choose this location for your retirement years even though you don’t have enough funds and will rely heavily on your Social Security check, you will be delighted with your decision. Even though rentals aren’t exactly inexpensive, the state makes up for it with additional expenses.
