9 States to Live on Your Social Security Check Alone

8. Arkansas

Arkansas is the second-best state for seniors seeking ways to maximize their Social Security income due to its mix of reasonably affordable one-bedroom rents and a low total cost of living. You won’t be taxed on your Social Security, which is wonderful news.

Last year, people who relocated to Arkansas but couldn’t afford to buy a house straightaway and chose rent as their first option were pretty satisfied with the prices because the average rent was around $725.

9. Kentucky

The so-called Bluegrass State appeals to seniors because of its inexpensive cost of living and small-town atmosphere. And if you’ve been there at least once in your life, then you know what I am talking about. At the beginning of this year, in Kentucky, almost 16.4% of the state’s population was 65 years of age or older.

Isn’t that nice? Do we have any readers from Kentucky to give us all an honest opinion about this state? You’re welcome to write to us in the comments section.

Bottom line

Given that most seniors find retirement frightening, it is crucial to carefully explore all of your options, especially if you intend to support yourself solely on Social Security. In order to maintain a high standard of living on a limited budget, it’s critical to evaluate your complete financial situation. The secret to flourishing throughout your retirement is understanding how to optimize your Social Security payments and if it’s possible to think about relocation to certain states that might give you a nicer perspective.
