Neighbors

Retirees should ask about potential neighbors and try meeting them. They can either make or break how you feel about a future home. Meeting your neighbors can also help you gain a better understanding of the neighborhood.

Skipping A Final Walk-Through

Many purchase agreements allow for a final walk-through of the house to confirm that the property is still in good condition. This aspect is especially true if a retiree is buying a foreclosed house.

Other than that, things can get pretty banged up when people move out, or maintenance specialists get careless with any fixes you may have requested as part of the sale. So you’ll want to confirm that no last-minute damage has been done.
