Housing costs in Alabama are exceptionally low.

Did you know that the average home value in Montgomery is only $119,500? If you decide that retiring in Alabama is the right fit, you’ll discover that you can find a nice place to rent for about $800 monthly.

Mobile, on the other hand, has the 22nd-lowest cost of living in our country. Even Huntsville is competitive with these numbers.

Even though housing costs are expected to rise by more than 3% in the next couple of years, you’ll still find some very reasonable options to consider when you move here.

One of the best retirement benefits of moving to Alabama is that getting around the state is also easy. The interstates will take you to Birmingham, Mobile, and Montgomery, with easy-to-navigate connections to Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, and Anniston.
