Low-Cost Vacation: The Maritimes, Canada

If you live near the Canadian border, we have another fantastic option. The Maritimes include Canada’s eastern provinces: Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. This entire region is an excellent low-cost vacation choice for seniors on a budget.

In the off-season, you can take a $31 ferry from Bar Harbor, Maine, to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, or drive north to New Brunswick. And as one would expect, there’s no shortage of outdoor adventures on a trip like this. Just imagine whale watching at eye level on a Zodiac boat.

Halifax’s Pier 21, the Canadian Ellis Island, brings memories for immigrants, and historic hotels like the Algonquin Resort and Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa may take seniors down memory lane to childhood vacations.

You seem to have relocated Branson, Missouri (MO) to Michigan (MI).
