10 Things That Belong in a Safe Deposit Box

Let’s just put it like this: your bank and the FDIC will never insure the values from your safe deposit box. And just like collectibles, if something happens to your jewelry, the standard coverage you will receive will be modest, at best.

That’s why insurance experts are recommending adding a personal articles floater to your insurance portfolio. Because such a policy will provide you with added coverage for some of your valuables.

You’ll probably need to get written appraisals for each and every piece of jewelry, just for insurance purposes. However, it’s worth mentioning that the jewelry that you wear on a daily basis shouldn’t belong in a safe deposit box.
