Other Digital Payment Options the IRS Supports

If you don’t want your refund deposited directly into your bank account, there are other digital alternatives.

Prepaid Debit Cards

Some taxpayers choose to receive refunds on prepaid debit cards.

These cards function similarly to traditional bank debit cards and can be used for:

  • ATM withdrawals
  • Online purchases
  • Retail payments

Mobile Banking Apps

Many financial institutions now support mobile banking and digital wallet services, allowing taxpayers to manage their funds easily.

Multiple Account Deposits

The IRS also allows refunds to be split into up to three accounts, helping taxpayers allocate money toward savings or investments.
