3. Parkside Village, New York

Parkside Village, nestled in a serene, forested setting, is an active 55+ community with a neighborhood vibe, friendly neighbors, and attractive prefabricated homes. This lovely retirement community is beautifully located in the Town of Cheektowaga, a suburb of the City of Buffalo, and is bordered by the magnificent 308-acre Stiglmeier Park.

It is 35 miles from the world-famous Niagara Falls and about 110 miles from Toronto, Canada’s cultural, entertainment, and financial center. It provides unrivaled access to neighboring attractions, like the Walden Galleria Mall, boutiques, cafés, antique stores, galleries, and restaurants.

Cheektowaga also has a diversified animal population, beautiful parks, and a variety of recreational opportunities. Enjoy a vigorous stroll across scenic scenery or simply rest and breathe in the cool summer wind. A two-bedroom, two-bath home and a two-bedroom, one-bath home were recently listed for sale for somewhat less than $58,000 and $54,000, respectively.

RETIRED IN USA; Knowing places to retire is important, not just for inexpensive housing but also for places which are the least expensive in other areas, such as taxes and food prices.
In future articles, maybe you could suggest places which are the least expensive to live in comfort during one’s final years, without worrying about having to decide where to spend their money.
Thank you in advance for your consideration!

My name is Eddie Marshall and I have lived in Las Vegas since 1994. I am 50 years of age and I was thinking about relocating to Florida within the next year. I need a comprehensive layout plan of how much I need to sustain my living expenses compared to Florida’s Cost of Living. I was thinking about retiring within the next 5 years. I don’t necessarily need to live in a Retirement Community. What are your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions for my plans? Have a Great Day.

Am familiar with the Sandwich, IL area, having lived a few miles away in Oswego for 19 years. Could not retire and stay in IL due to the incredibly high property, school and income taxes which in 2019 made my mortgage payments more that twice what I now pay in TN. Had a nice house with protected Federal Wildland and a small lake behind our 3 bedroom, 2 bath ranch. Great area despite being under Pritzker’s political thumb. But the taxes were a killer.
