Decorating: Avoid the clutter!

No matter how many decorations you may have, you need to follow the “less is more” principle” if you want to stay safe during the holidays! This does not mean that you should be hiding away your decorations or not using them, but rather that you should be avoiding clutter.

The more clutter you have around, the easier it is to trip over something, be it inside the home or outside on your porch. And if you happen to catch onto a table or mantle runner that has another myriad of decorations on it, the fall will not be the only thing you will have to worry about when all the decor falls on top of you!

We know the chances are not extremely high of this happening, but if you or anyone in your home is using a walking aid, there is still a possibility, and it is better to be safe than sorry. Make sure you do not clutter all the surfaces of your home with decorations and that all the walking spaces are free of tripping hazards for everyone in the home or potential guests!
