#5 Don’t overpay for medication

One of the issues most of us will have with old age is health. Whether the issues are severe or mild, you will most likely have to take some medication to ensure your quality of life. This is why a lot of people forget that medication can end up costing you a pretty penny.

A good way to make sure your security check will last you the whole month is to try to save money on medication. Whether you buy generic instead of specific brands (they work the same) or use a prescription membership program, it’s best not to spend a fortune on medications when you can definitely save some money!

I paid in close to the limit of social security for much of my life. Yes I took social security at 62 but my checks are less than $900 a month as it would not make my house payment. Thank goodness my retirement income is far in excess of that. I can’t imagine living on that alone.
