9. Tour Guide
Numerous guided tours have been put on ice during the pandemic, but they’re starting to reopen. And for retirees, this could be the best time to use their retirement free time to cash in.
If you’re a history buff or a born educator, or you live near a historic site, this part-time job might fit you very well. You need to be at ease talking to groups of tourists and have your facts and anecdotes at the ready. You will need to walk visitors through points of historical importance in the hometown or give personal tours of, say, a local winery or pretzel factory.
I retired because of my hands have arthritis. It took me on my job longer and longer to do my work with pain and I was unhappy because of this! I found a job working for the town I lived in it was 20 hours a week and did not require much hand work! I saw so many people that I have not seen in years! I love this job! What more can anyone ask for, I help people that are older than I, talk to many and find out what is going on in my town!!!

I have worked since my retirement over 20 years ago but I had to retire again to be a
caretaker for my wife who has many health problems. My purpose has become taking care of her
and it is a full time job so I have no plans to go back to work until my situation changes. I
would love to find something to fill in the gaps but I have to work from home to do it.
This was a great article, I retired in 2023 and found a job working at an elementary school in the cafeteria, it’s a great job 20-25 hours a week, 10 minutes from home 9:30 -1:30 summers off weekends off and summers and holidays off all while earning a small paycheck but also getting health benefits. What could be better?
What about “voice-overs”?
Can a retired person with many voices & accents get into that?
