Costa Rica is one of those stunning places with great weather year-round where there’s always something to explore. This dynamic Central American country is noted for its “pura vida” culture and is home to a wide variety of ecosystems, from jungles and tropical rainforests to idyllic beaches on the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.

Housing in San José is pretty affordable, being about 80% cheaper than in New York City, and overall consumer prices are around 45% cheaper in this county than they are in the US.

The temporary residency visa, also known as the Pensionado Visa, necessitates a monthly income of $1,000, while the Rentista Program requires either $60,000 or a monthly income of $2,500 for 24 months in the absence of a pension, whichever comes first.
