Could a New Billionaire Tax Plan Mean $3,000 for You?

The Part That Affects You Directly: Up to $3,000 Per Year

Economic estimates suggest the wealth tax could generate approximately $4.4 trillion over the next decade. A significant portion of that revenue would flow back to everyday Americans in the form of direct annual payments:

  • Households earning $150,000 or less would receive up to $3,000 per year
  • A family of four in the same income bracket could receive as much as $12,000 annually
  • Those payments could be used to offset costs for housing, prescription drug coverage, health care, childcare, and other daily necessities

For retirees managing the gap between Social Security checks and the real cost of living, $3,000 a year in additional income could be meaningful—particularly as Medicare Part B premiums, Medicare supplement insurance costs, and everyday expenses continue to climb.

Rep. Khanna put it plainly: while places like Silicon Valley are generating extreme wealth, families everywhere are struggling to cover basic costs. The bill, he argues, offers a way to fund a fairer economy without dismantling innovation.
