Don’t Have Any Savings? Here Are The 8 Best Places to Retire

Arkansas: Harrison

Coming in with similarities to Roanoke Rapids, Harrison has that very particular Arkansas feel that you will not be able to experience anywhere else. And with 22% of the population being 65 or older, you know that people do love to live here when they’re looking for a retirement place to relocate to.

The only disadvantage, in the eyes of those who don’t have much in their savings account, is that the average home price ends up being high: at nearly $153,000, it is the most expensive entry on our list. And you will also find it a bit disappointing that Arkansas is one of the states that do tax retirement income. However, because the crime rate per 1,000 people is only 21.65, you may find the aspects mentioned earlier less bothersome.

It’s up to you to put everything into balance and see what is best for you!

I’d MUCH prefer any of the numerous tropical expat destinations! The would not only be less expensive (possibly significantly less), but nicer weather than any of these places.

Pennnsylvania can eat you up with school taxes. Being a commonwealth, the whole state is broken up into townships. So much waste and duplication of services it more than makes up for not taxing social security or retirement income. The school tax is the killer. The state has more tax collectors than the entire country combined.

I retired in Brazil. Free health care which includes unlimited doctor´s visits, hospitalizations, transplants, free hearing aids and cataracts surgery, affordable medicine and many is free.
save places to live with high security, great climate and extremely nice people. You can live well on your Social Security income.

Nowhere is it mentioned about culture, health care, cost of food or gas. Based on your study, I’d rather live in my 40ft Class A motor home.
