Will using your debit card help you build your credit score?

Using your debit card responsibly only shows financial maturity, as you are obliged to manage your account to make sure you have enough to pay for your monthly expenses.

But what’s unfortunate is that using your debit card won’t matter at all when it comes to your credit score. Using a debit card is similar to using cash. From the bank’s perspective, just because you can easily manage your cash doesn’t really mean that you can borrow money from someone and pay it back.

As a matter of fact, debit card issuers don’t even bother reporting to credit agencies. So using your debit card won’t have any effect on your credit score.
