We already know that Social Security is our country’s most important program when it comes to providing financial aid to retirees, the long-term disabled, and the survivors of deceased workers. Studies have shown that there are some states that provide a considerably higher average monthly Social Security benefit than others. In 2022, the maximum is $3,240 per month for someone who files at full retirement age, which is 66.

But $4,194 is the highest benefit for those who are eligible and delay their claim until the age of 70. Please remember that qualifying for Social Security requires at least ten years of work or 40 work credits.
