5. Avis rental cars (multiple locations)

This is one of the many great AARP benefits for senior members. You will save up to 25% on an Avis rental car. And the good news is not over! You can also upgrade your car for free or get other perks because of your AARP status. How cool is that?

6. Senior community service employment program

Basically SCSEP is a program that helps people who are over 55 find a job. You can also benefit from a great training program that will help you learn new things and also be independent with financial stability. SCSEP is financed by the state and the federal government, and it’s meant to help people who need a transition into retirement and who don’t have the best employment opportunities.

I find this very helpful. It’s always great when the authorities are helping people grow and have better life perspectives.

The Sunshine State actually offers the best communities for retired seniors. There are plenty of recreational activities to choose from, depending on your preferences. That’s amazing!

7. Age requirement for senior citizens

You have to know by now that the senior citizen age in Florida is 60 or over, but the state offers benefits for those who are 55 or over. If you apply to these programs, you will find support for any question you might have. There are a lot of programs available for seniors. Make sure you read about every detail on their website.

We are from Michigan. We are in good health. We are both in our middle 80’s.

We are in our late 60s and concerned about the healthcare in Florida. We have not heard good things about it, and I’m disabled. We plan to come back to Philadelphia every 2 mo for care. Sad to have that reputation with an older population. Makes no sense. Can you not attract good Drs? The only hospital I heard that is ok is Moffit for cancer.

My daughter in law keeps telling me to move to Florida and she will help take care of me. I am just about 69 years old and I live in Delaware and I can not stand the cold weather. Every year I have trouble dealing with the cold more and more. I am interested in moving to the west coast part of Florida somewhere close to Tampa.

RIGHT NOW, FLORIDA, AND TEXAS, ARE ABOUT THE ONLY PATRIOTIC STATES TO LIVE IN. AND….FLORIDA WINS OUT WITH THE BETTER OVERALL WEATHER , RTHER THAN TEXAS, (TOO HOT), AND IN SOME PLACES EVEN COLD. SO….WELCOME TO FLORIDA, THE MORE THE MERRIER. AND….THE MORE POLITICAL CLOUT WE WILL HAVE.
