Medicare Open Enrollment: October 15 – December 7

Each year, Medicare beneficiaries have an opportunity to review and change their coverage during the annual open enrollment period, which runs from October 15 through December 7.

This window allows you to switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan, return to Original Medicare from an Advantage plan, or select a different prescription drug plan.

Choosing the right coverage during this period is particularly important, as your decisions will determine your healthcare costs and benefits for the entire following year. Missing the window could mean being locked into your current plan unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
