10 Things That Belong in a Safe Deposit Box

Birth, Marriage, Divorce, and Death Certificate

Another important thing you should consider putting in a safe deposit box in your vital records. Even if they’re rarely needed, the fuss of replacing them in case you lose them will completely exhaust you. When we say vital records, we mean birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, and even divorce certificates.

The same applies to adoption-related documents if there are any, especially birth certificates from an oversea adoption. Those are the hardest documents to replace. So no, you definitely WON’T WANT to lose them! Even if government agencies can issue requested certified copies of some of your most vital records, it will cost you a lot of time, effort, and money.
