Where? Austria

Average Life Expectancy: 81.6 years
Official Language: German

Since this country is the second-richest one in the European Union, it doesn’t surprise us to learn that its citizens enjoy long lifespans. The country’s socioeconomics positively affects the population’s access to reliable healthcare and nutritious foods.

And Austria is also the third safest country globally, which helps decrease stress among locals. Austrian culture concentrates primarily on a healthy work-life balance, and they have a more laid-back approach to working hours and an emphasis on spending lots of leisure time outdoors.

Many stores close on Sundays to give shop owners a day off work. And in August, many shops close for the entire month so employees can enjoy a summer vacation.

Austrians love to enjoy freshwater lakes in warmer months and ski the slopes in the wintertime. The capital, Vienna, is also known as the city with the highest quality of life globally.
