1. Higher-than-expected inflation

Especially during retirement, money is our biggest issue. And the truth is that starting this year, this horrible inflation will devalue our income and assets, increasing the amount of money we need to support a decent lifestyle. The problem gets worse the longer you live, and unfortunately, if you’re not well-prepared to deal with the situation, you will be out of money in the blink of an eye.

If you are a current retiree, you need to rework your budget and assets to account for inflation and watch out for all the spending cuts you can make. In case you still have a few years before retiring, devise a plan for meeting your savings goals.

2. Taxes

One of the major problems for retirees is taxes! Many people were able to postpone paying taxes as they saved in 401(k) plans until they retired. Since future tax rates are unpredictable and mandatory minimum distributions may entail the closure of some investments whether or not you need the money, this poses numerous challenges for retirement planning. Planning your taxes is a crucial component of developing your entire retirement income strategy.
