8 Kirkland Products That No Longer Feel Like a Costco Bargain

December 17, 2025 · Saving & Spending

Kirkland Steak Strips Are More Expensive Per Bag

Kirkland Signature steak strips have seen a noticeable price increase of roughly 13% in just one year. A 340-gram bag that once cost $14.99 now rings up closer to $16.99.

For shoppers who rely on steak strips for quick dinners, high-protein snacks, or meal prep, that increase adds up fast. When inflation hits protein prices, it tends to impact grocery budgets disproportionately.

Smart alternatives:

  • Buy fresh beef in smaller quantities when it’s on sale
  • Rotate proteins weekly (chicken, eggs, legumes)
  • Compare per-ounce pricing at grocery stores using cashback or rewards credit cards

CostCo has priced themselves right out of my pocketbook!!
They have raised their membership fees Again!
I read recently that something like 69% of their earnings come from membership fees!!!

Gram crackers are another one that has reduced the amount of crackers in the box. The crackers are at least 1/3 smaller and the price has increased!
I would really like to know how much it has gone up?
Only guessing without knowing what they used to be here, what size they were

the membership price is totally ridiculous. the tropicana orange juice is about the same price, but it’s 3 bottles and a smaller size container. I enjoy the grassfed burgers, that is very overpriced. I stopped buying the chicken parts, they are now giving us scraps instead of whole parts.

We have shopped less at Costco because of increased prices and large quantities because we can’t store it or use it fast enough and member fee keeps going up.
