Social workers for mental health and substance abuse are people who help others cope with cognitive, behavioral, and emotional issues and some other life challenges. The downside to this part-time gig is that travel and some evening work might be necessary to visit clients.
Unfortunately, a bachelor’s degree is needed to become a social worker, and a master’s degree and two years of supervised experience are required in order to become a clinical social worker.
The pay is an average of $23.79 per hour. And employment in this area is expected to increase by 16 percent by 2026 because people seem to seek out treatment for mental illnesses and substance abuse increasingly.
It also appears that more and more drug offenders are sent to treatment programs.
