Snow plowing

Most rural homes have long driveways, and if you have a truck, you can make really good money when winter weather begins by plowing driveways and private roads. You can advertise your services on Craigslist or very similar websites, or via hand-delivered flyers.

Pet care

Not all rural residents are farmers, but this doesn’t mean that they don’t have a pet they dearly care for. If they need help with their pet, you can always add this labor to your list of side jobs for seniors.

Make an announcement on Craigslist or Facebook stating that you offer pet care services for rural residents. It could only take a couple of hours per week with daily walking, feeding, and caring, but it’s definitely worth trying. After all, there are a couple of bucks more!
