Best Time to Visit: Spring through fall. You’ll find generally warm temperatures in the daytime.

Located in Virginia, this National Park is an easy drive from most places on the Eastern coast. This Appalachian Mountain area brings you a unique history and expansive views. Skyline Drive is one of the most popular attractions in Shenandoah National Park.

The 105-mile route offers spectacular views of the Virginia landscape, and there are 75 overlooks where travelers can stop to enjoy the scenery. Some of the most amazing overlooks on Skyline Drive include Bearfence Mountain, Hawksbill Gap, and Big Meadows.

Hawksbill Gap is particularly scenic, where you can see panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Bearfence Mountain is another fantastic option for those looking to see sweeping vistas, and it’s also a popular hiking spot.

Big Meadows is a must for nature lovers because it’s home to many plants and animal life. This is the perfect spot to pack a picnic basket and surround yourself with nature. But no matter your interests, Skyline Drive has an overlook that’s sure to impress you.
