8 Surprising Things That Will Cost You Less in Retirement

I know you might have thought that it would be the other way around. After all, you have all this free time on your hands; no wonder it’s always 5 o’clock in retirement! However, the reality is a bit different.

It seems that after they retire, Americans are less stressed (for obvious reasons: no boss, no working hours, nothing), so they don’t feel the need to smoke and drink that much.

They’re also less obese and more inclined to exercise. According to a study published in the Journal of Human Resources, after a couple of years of retirement, adults are less at risk for terrible illnesses, they’re less likely to suffer from loneliness, and they might have an increased sense of purpose and camaraderie, which obviously lowers the risk of binge eating, drinking, and smoking.
