1. Nebraska

Nebraska is one of the cheapest states in the country, with an overall cost of living nearly 80% below the national average, and last year, the least expensive rent was around $800. Utilities are 12% cheaper than the national average, while housing is 17% cheaper. Are you ready for even more good news? In Nebraska, groceries cost around 5% less than they do elsewhere in the nation, while apparel is 5% less expensive. I guess that doesn’t sound that bad, right? And don’t worry, you won’t fit into the state because Nebraska is welcoming all seniors into its arms.

What do you think about this state? Do you think you could manage to have a good life living only on your Social Security?
