7. Baltimore, Maryland

Baltimore, or “Charm City,” as it is often called, is not actually that lovely. At least, that is what travelers claim! In addition to the current violence that has put this city under a nighttime restriction, locals aren’t very nice to visitors or one another. This city’s crime rate is at an all-time high, and residents and visitors alike are worried, which prevents them from making eye contact or small chats with strangers. The city has a reputation for being somewhat strange and peculiar, and often this turns off visitors.

Moreover, in 2019, tourists and occasionally local citizens got pranked by a dude who made fun of those who were passing near him. He filmed the whole interaction and posted the videos on the internet. Someone bolder reported him to the police, and in February he was arrested and charged with five counts of harassment.

If someone is rude to you, that doesn’t mean you have to tolerate this kind of behavior! This book written by Robert Sutton, “The Asshole Survival Guide,” can help you get through difficult situations. It can be found in paperback, hardcover, kindle, and audiobook formats for less than $20!
