Do you have a favorite hobby?
…mmm, can you hear that? It is the sound of freedom and serenity, also known as “retirement.” And one of our favorite parts of retirement is that we’re free to follow our old hobbies and passions and pick up some new ones along the way. If you were a fan of traveling but didn’t have the necessary time to do it because of your 9-to-5 job, now it’s time for you to see the rest of the world and enjoy it as much as possible. Because guess what? You deserve it!

Great Article. #2 is Interesting because I actually live in that blace (Brazil) I always thought about. However nowadays the kids don’t want to move out the house, so you need to postpone the travel. My wife loves the Gardening. I create Learning Videos.
Ceramics works for me! Putting the detail back in at the seams. Takes your mind off a lot of things while your doing this. Will do some painting, drawing, sketching, etc.

Dancing==Old Country is the best
Country, ball room, and Swing dancing! Beats pickelball, raquetball, tennis, golf, at least for me!! Dance lessons help improve the learning skills. Helps maintain good balance! Believe it or not, also helps with language skills, as a dance leader, you have to think ahead of dance moves to execute, and with language you have to think ahead on translation.
what about sex
Mostly I crochet and sometimes knit. Good way to learn new things and keep my hands busy. Love to crochet hats to donate to different charities.
I am 81 n like to see n quilt.
I’m trying to relearn playing guitar. I used to be good enough to enjoy listening to what I played, but I have to warm up the fingers and brain.
Along with Yoga: tai chi. Some community colleges offer it as it’s best done as a group (class).
I have so many hobbies in crafting and gardening that I am now a vendor trying to sell some of my wares. Diamond painting, painting birdhouses, nutcrackers, and making Christmas ornaments are just a few that keep me busy..
Why did you not include reading as a retirement activity? Many people have little time to read during their working years and raising a family. Reading requires no equipment and can be done anywhere. Most older people prefer books rather than digital reading and there are public libraries with thousands of books, both classic and contemporary, available. Also new and used books often go on sale.
For me it is Beading and making jewelry. It is very calming and relaxing. I have not seen that mentioned anywhere.

I do so many different crafts that I now have 2 craft rooms. I found that Diamond painting and paint by number are both relaxing and take away a lot of stress. I also upcycle glass to make bird baths and feeders. I buy small bird houses and wooden boxes that I paint and decorate. Plus I’m into deco podging clear vases that I find at thrift stores. When the weather gets nice I start working on my flower garden . So yes, I keep busy….
