The average spent by US households: $3,030

Spending more money on groceries and less on eating out may make sense. Truth be told, cooking at home ends up being more affordable than getting takeout or even using meal kit services. It is definitely cheaper than eating at a restaurant.

Now, this doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a lovely dinner from time to time at your favorite restaurant. With a little planning, you can actually slash your restaurant bills. Taking home your leftovers, using coupons and deals, and checking reviews and online menus are some of the things you should consider when eating out.
