4. Spontaneous early retirement

If you are one of those unlucky American citizens that were forced to leave the workforce before you were ready to leave, this might cause a long list of problems. For example, in most cases, health issues are the main factor that makes people leave their jobs sooner than planned. As a result, you won’t have enough time to save all the money you need for a comfortable retirement.

Our friendly advice is to set your desired retirement date for a relatively young age to avoid being left with an emergency fund that is too small since you have to retire earlier than anticipated. In this manner, you will get rid of anxiety, be prepared if you must leave early, and simply be in a better position if you can work longer.

Making significant changes right away, like downsizing to a less expensive home, will help you save for retirement if you’re already close to retiring but are forced to quit working before you’re ready.
