8 Myths About Homebuying That Will Cost You a Fortune

An agent is automatically needed when you’re buying a new home

If you think that an agent isn’t needed, then think again. An agent might help you reduce the time you could spend looking and searching and even guide you through the entire mortgage process.

He/she is required to help you, the buyer. However, if you decide to work with a home listing agent, which is the agent that represents your home listing, it might work against you. That’s mainly because listing agents have some sort of fiduciary duty to the home seller.

So they’re already on the wrong side, as their legal obligation is directed to the person selling the home, not to you. But a buyer’s agent is different, and you can be 100% sure that there won’t be any conflict of interest from representing the seller.

Even more, it might not even cost you a dime, as in many of these cases, the seller is obliged to pay the commission for both agents.

This way, you won’t have to pay anything for first-class help. As many have recalled, using a buyer’s agent was one of the best decisions they ever made.

I want out of my mortgage. The fixed APR is fine, I am getting tired of being nickeled and dimed to death by my mortgage company. Seems like every time I turn around they are tacking on some kind of new fee.
