Senior Housing Options No. 3: Life Plan Communities

Life plan communities, also known as continuing care retirement communities, or CCRCs, are one of the perfect senior housing options for those who think that at some point they will need assisted living.

Life plan communities are basically places where more senior citizens can live together, and when needed, they can move from independent living to assisted living or skilled nursing care immediately.

All of these communities are different, which means that the contracts are also different and the terms may vary from facility to facility. While some demand an entry fee and a subsequent monthly fee, others demand the purchase of a property inside the community. Things can vary, and because of this, you should choose something that best suits your needs.

Depending on the terms of the contract, this fee might not change no matter how much care is given, or it might go up as a resident’s requirements grow.
