Yosemite National Park, California

Best Time to Visit: November through April to ensure peaceful weather and a crowd-free experience.

This National Park really doesn’t need an introduction from us. Famous for its deep valleys, waterfalls, giant sequoias, and towering granite monoliths, this park is perfect for retirees. The best part is that the entire Yosemite Valley is drivable.

So instead of hiking or walking, you can view astonishing sights like Glacier Point, Tunnel View, Yosemite Falls, and Horsetail Falls from the comfort of your own car. It also has year-round guided bus tours that you can try if you don’t have a car.

They include a two-hour Valley Floor Tour and an all-day tour to Tuolumne Meadows and back again. If retirees want to try hiking at Yosemite, it’s no big deal because most of the park’s popular trails are flat and ring around Yosemite Valley at a low altitude.
