Los Angeles, California

Even though one can be easily tempted by the wonderful weather and top-rated health care, there’s more to the city of angels than meets the eye. Like most other major “worst cities” in the country, the cost of living can be terrible for retirees.

For example, a tipycal one-bedroom apartment in the downtown area can cost about $2,000. Also, California has the highest sales tax in the country. And it’s also worth noting that LA’s never-ending struggles with droughts and wildfires can make it a bad idea to move here.

The last wildfire destroyed over 1,200 houses and covered an area of roughly 1.2 million acres.

…But besides all this, we STILL recommend Disney Land for the young at heart!
