Yep, you’ve read that right. You can use your coupons and store sales options to save some money, but you can take it to the next level with these special discounts for older people. You can get what you want and still put some money aside. We did our homework, and we’ve discovered lots of retailers that offer senior discounts, so let’s not keep this intro any longer! 1. American Discount Foods

Have you ever been to American Discount Foods before? If not, this is your chance to check it out because it offers amazing senior discounts for people aged 62 and older. You can save 10% off your entire purchase thanks to this offer, but keep in mind that the retailer doesn’t accept any manufacturer coupons.

You can use your senior discount every Monday, but unfortunately, this isn’t available for all Americans, considering that the store is only available in Arizona. So the next time you’re grocery shopping, make sure you get your ID with you and start saving!

2. Albertsons

Another grocery store that offers senior discounts is Albertsons, and this one is available in many states in the country. If you’re at least 55 years old, you can save 10% of your entire purchase, but only on the first Wednesday of each month.

We’ve talked to the staff from Albertsons in California, and they told us that they don’t offer senior discounts and that this is only available in particular US states, so you should check out with the managers to find out more. Albertsons operates stores in Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Louisiana, Montana, Washington, and Wyoming.

The day the senior discount is applied can be different from one store to another, so check it with the staff. Remember, this offer is only available in select areas and regions.

3. Bashas (Food City and AJ’s)

The next store we’re going to talk about today is Bashas, which is available in New Mexico and Arizona. If you’re at least 55 years old, you can get a senior discount of 10% off your shopping in a single transaction on the first Wednesday of each month.

Don’t forget to take your ID with you, because they might need to check it for age verification. Moreover, you might need to use your Thank You Card to receive your special discount, so take it with you as well.

4. Concord Food Co-Op

Seniors in New Hampshire should go to Concord Food Co-Op if they want to save 15% off their entire purchase. If you’re a member of this grocery store, you’ll be happy to receive your senior discount every Tuesday and Sunday.

This offer is available for people aged 62 and older, and to make the most of this offer, you need to have a current owner’s card and complete the retailer’s application to show you’re eligible for this option.

5. BI-LO

Even though the senior discount is smaller than at other stores we’ve previously talked about, it’s still better than nothing, especially if you make a big purchase. If you’re at least 60 years old, you can save 5% on your purchase every Wednesday if you do your shopping at BI-LO.

This grocery store is available in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, and in order to use this discount, you first have to fill out an application for the Senior Bonus Card. Once they review it and you’re approved, you can start shopping and saving.

6. Harris Teeter

Another grocery store that will treat older citizens to senior discounts is Harris Teeter. If you’re at least 60 years old, make sure you do your shopping from this retailer every Thursday, because you can receive an additional 5% discount after all other coupons have been applied.

Make sure you have a VIC card, so you can have access to every offer in the store, and you’re good to go. If you want to purchase tickets, gas, pharmacy products, or gift cards, keep in mind that they’re not included in this senior discount.

This store is available in North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and Delaware, so keep those savings coming.

Unfortunately, this offer doesn’t include prescription drugs, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, postage, lottery tickets, transit services, Western Union services, money orders, taxes, gasoline, and gift cards. This grocery store operates in several states across the country, so make sure you check it with the employees to make sure that you can benefit from this senior discount.

8. New Seasons Market

If you live in California, Washington, or Oregon, this one’s for you! New Seasons Market offers senior discounts of 10% off most items for people aged 65 and older. You can do your grocery shopping on Wednesdays to receive your discount, but make sure to check with the employees to confirm that the items you put in your cart are eligible for the discount.

9. ShopRite

If you live in New Jersey, Connecticut, or New York, you can get your senior discount from ShopRite. Do your grocery shopping here every Tuesday, and you can save 5% of your entire purchase.

This offer is available for people who are at least 55 years old, and to make sure that you get everything you want while still saving money, ask for your senior discount at the register. Furthermore, take your valid ID with you to avoid any potential issues.
