Local photography

Rural areas offer probably the best and most diverse settings for photographs. You only need a good camera and a love for photography, of course. You can sell your photographs to the local newspaper or even upload them to various stock photo sites like Shutterstock. This way, website owners can easily buy the rights to use your photo or pay you a commission.

Farmhand help

I bet that when you first read about side jobs for seniors in rural areas, you first thought about labor work. Well, you were right. Believe it or not, there are plenty of labor shortages in small towns, mostly due to the fact that younger residents look for opportunities in bigger cities.

Older residents have lost their ability to perform difficult labor jobs, and they oftentimes need additional help. If you’re looking for options in rural side jobs for seniors, you should consider farmhand help.

There are many farm owners who need additional help to complete their daily chores. It is one of the most active side jobs for seniors you can find, given that you might need to feed livestock, clean up barns, and shovel manure. It’s not easy, but if you love spending time in nature, you might enjoy it.
