8 Unique and Affordable Places to Retire

Scranton is another affordable place to live during your retirement years. The median home price is $150,000, and for $400,000 you will be able to buy a house with a big garage and more than four rooms. For all the fans of the famous TV series “The Office”, you won’t see Michael Scott around town, but you will definitely have other benefits because remember that nobody from the show wanted to move away from this place. Starting with top-notch health care and an affordable cost of living, Scranton is one great place to move to if you’re not already a citizen.

If you’re into pop culture, you can visit the Houdini Museum, and if you’re a huge fan (I am for sure!) of “The Office,” you can take a walking tour around the area where the shooting took place. Amazing, right?

The cost of living in Scranton is affordable because it is less than the U.S. average. If you have a $400,000 housing budget, you are able to buy a five-bathroom, five-bedroom house that is 3,279 square feet. And if you want to spend the summer with your grandkids, they will be delighted by the environment for sure! Moreover, Scranton has 10 main hospitals that offer specialties in cardiac care, women’s health, and cancer.

Are you ready to move to one of the most affordable places in the U.S?
