5. Visalia, California

Visalia is located in the heart of California and sits at the base of the Kings Canyon national park. The Central Valley of California’s natural splendor is best explored from Visalia. In the winter, you can go snowshoeing; in the summer, you can go fishing on Lake Success; and in the fall, you can explore Crystal Cave. A round-trip reservation on the Sequoia Shuttle from Visalia to Sequoia National Park costs $20. If you’re into hiking and sports, Visalia is definitely your dream place. Here you can take horse riding lessons, play tennis and golf, and if you’re really good at it, you can enter various competitions as well.

If you want to have a city break in the nearby cities, Visalia is 190 miles from Los Angeles and 240 miles away from San Francisco. Home prices are affordable compared to California’s cities.

You may purchase a recently constructed three-bedroom, two-bathroom Mediterranean-style home with a two-car garage for roughly $380,000.

Within 25 miles of Visalia, five hospitals may be found. Kaweah Health Medical, with over 580 beds and specialties in neurosciences, cardiac care, and orthopedics, among others, is the biggest hospital in Tulare County.

Despite the fact that most of our locations are small or medium-sized cities, most provide quick day trips to large cities. For instance, it takes less than three hours to travel from Scranton, Pennsylvania, where you can locate a large property for approximately $150,000, to New York City.
