Idaho

Idaho was quick to approve 2022 Special Session rebates that will be fully paid out by the end of March 2023. The total amount of the rebate is bigger than 10% of a taxpayer’s 2020 income tax liability, and $300 for single filers or $600 for joint filers. The state Tax Commission will anticipate sending around 800,000 payments so in total $500 million.

New Jersey

New Jersey is sending out $2 billion in property tax rebates, to no less than two million of its residents. The total amount of the rebate is income-based, as homeowners get up to $150,000 qualifying for $1,500, and those who earn $150,000 to $250,000 get $1,000.

Renters will also be able to receive $450, just as long as they will get no more than $150,000. Payments will be slated to arrive before May 2023.

  1. The Colorado payments that you mentioned are not government stimulus payments. They are Tabor refunds, ie a government refund of overpayments that taxpayers had made. The voters in Colorado had passed a law several years ago that the state was not allowed to keep surpluses.
