Making long-term investments

Seniors don’t have the same timeline as other younger investors to see returns, so you should definitely build and adjust your portfolio with this in mind. “You might see retirees starting to invest in things that they shouldn’t normally,” said Robert Glazer, the founder, and CEO of Acceleration Partners.

As he added: “the problem is that the investment landscape is made for the long term rather than the limited amount of time retirees have. When they make this kind of investment and see that their retirement funds are squeezing more as days go by, they don’t have the same amount of time to recoup those losses as someone that’s still in the working field.”
