Buy A Beach House In: Freeport, Texas

Average Home List Price: $107,235

Found just a few minutes away from the Gulf of Mexico, this location is a water lover’s dream come true. You have the perfect opportunity to sail through the crystal clear waters and explore Jetty Park.

Another great way to spend the day is to grab a picnic basket…and a loved one and soak in the sun at the closeby Surfside Beach.

Originally a European-American settlement founded in 1912, The Houston and Brazos Valley Railway was based in this area because it was home to the world’s largest sulfur mines. And by 1913, this charming small town had a bank, church, hotel, and a fish and oyster farm.

Nowadays, this coastal community has some of the best fishing opportunities in Texas. A variety of offshore charter boat rentals are available for day and overnight trips, and they can accommodate any size group.

But if you want to go off on your own, fishing is effortless in this town. It’s got two marinas, and numerous boat ramps, and you’ve got your pick of the best bait and tackle shops.

Ever tried surf fishing? Bryan Beach is maintained by Freeport for those looking to try it out. It has a three-mile sandy beach that’s perfect for saltwater fishing. Brazos River is also worth checking out.
