10 Things That Belong in a Safe Deposit Box

Social Security Card

By having your Social Security number in the hands of an identity thief, you can suffer terrible repercussions. It can easily be the start of a long time of headaches and despair, as you’ll be forced to file disputes, freeze most of your accounts and monitor credit reports for any possible signs of financial fraud.

That’s why we believe the Social Security Card should be the first one on this list, even if it might not seem the most valuable item. Consider putting your Social Security card in a safe deposit box, because on rare occasions you will need to use it for a real estate closing, for example, you’ll be able to retrieve it.
