#8 Security Guard

If you are older and don’t have a background in the military or law enforcement, you might believe that working as a security guard would be impossible. But older folks frequently have the perseverance and life experience needed to excel in this field. A comprehensive background check and a drug test are typical requirements, but you can also receive training on the job. The education and experience requirements for armed guards are stricter.

You can work as a parking guard, a residential guard, or a mall security officer. Maintaining order, keeping an eye on cameras and alarms, denying or accepting entry to cars, opening, and closing gates, and other backstage duties are your key responsibilities in these roles.

This position is usually paid $34.000 per year.
