It isn’t a secret that good mental and physical health aid us in reaching old age, and on these fronts, Canada is king! This country ranks 16th on the World’s Healthiest Nations list by Bloomberg and 9th on the World Happiness Report.

In Canada, preventative care is standard, which helps to prolong lives by catching illnesses in early stages. It also doesn’t hurt that Canadian national parks offer a low-cost way of being active and surround oneself with unspeakable beauty.

Canadians even maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating balanced diets and exercising regularly. The province of British Columbia claims the longest life span for both men and women.

But unfortunately, on the other hand, communities of indigenous people in the northern territories have a much lower life expectancy, typically five years less than people living in major cities, because of their isolation and limited access to healthcare.

So the bottom line is: no matter where you live, it seems like a positive attitude, a healthy lifestyle…and NAPS are important!
