Retirement Issue: Complacency
This first one is probably the most overlooked retirement issue. Complacency can take many different forms and is the biggest risk to seniors. While all these retirement issues are real, they can be remedied to some degree by having a plan in place to address the issues.
But complacency is often linked to fearing change and making a mistake. For some people, the idea of doing nothing feels like a safer bet. Though let’s not forget that choosing to make no decision is still making a decision.
This can be just as damaging as making the wrong choices. Complacency leaves you exposed to many potential retirement issues that exist if you don’t have a plan of attack.
Without a well-thought-out plan, you end up sticking to a plan that has you reacting to retirement issues as they come up, which is basically not having a plan at all.
Whether you choose to deal with them or not, there’s no escaping the problems that you will face in retirement.
