“We are taking in Trillions of Dollars… A dividend of at least $2,000 a person (not including high-income people!) will be paid to everyone.”
The idea is simple in theory: use tariff revenue to issue direct payments to middle- and lower-income Americans, helping offset rising prices and boosting consumer spending.
But critics argue the numbers don’t add up — and that tariffs function more like a hidden tax on consumers than a true source of “free money.”

I totally agree, I’m battled cancer three times, now I have lung cancer. I can’t get help from cancer care sevices until I start treatments. I get just right at 1000.00 I get SSI and ssdi. I lost my RV and two weeks later. My vehicle went. I haven’t been to my oncologist for two weeks now. Due to the fact I’m trying to make sure I don’t lose my room. At the seagoville inn. In Texas.. I was staying with my cousin, and paying her rent for the pass 5 months. But had to leave. Because her husband was ready for me to go. .
I had my own business. I had a cleaning service. A Southern Touch Cleaning Services. Out of keene Texas. I’ve lost everything. 2005 I had stage 4 breast cancer. Which I was in a coma for 7 days. In which I beat that. A year later I started my own business. 2019 I was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. That almost took my life. To 2023 I was diagnosed with breast cancer again. And had a left mastectomy. To Feb 2026. I was diagnosed with lung cancer. Was doing my treatments til about three weeks ago. I haven’t been able to make my appointment.
$1,010.00 a month. Does not help me with rent. Getting my vehicle fixed!! I’m grateful, I get something but it not enough.
