Income Limits and Phase-Out Rules

This deduction is not available to everyone.

  • Full benefit applies to low- and middle-income retirees
  • Begins phasing out around $150,000 (married couples)
  • Fully disappears near $250,000+ income

This makes it especially valuable for households focused on tax-efficient retirement income strategies.
